dekillerqueen: (You so silly)

RL with Matt Engarde

If Shelly were the one to use such blunt language, he would call this "one hell of a night". But as we all know, he was not, so he simply considered it a greatly pleasant night with his best friend. They hadn't done much since the karaoke session; mostly, they had been following the community's reaction to the video. Why nobody knew Shelly and Matt were best bros for life, well, they had no clue. In fact, some people seemed to think they hated each other. There must be some rascal spreading misleading rumours around or something.

After some thought, Shelly decided to have just one more glass of brandy. His liver hopefully wouldn't mind this one-time excess, and should anything happen, he had Matt around to help. Sure, Matt was possibly even drunker, but if they got into trouble, at least they'd get into trouble together.

All in all, he was immensely glad he had such a good friend. As much as he pretended not to need social interaction, the truth was that he was thankful he had someone he could empathise with.

SO SORRY FOR TAKING AGES ON THIS

Matt was slowly - well, quickly - growing very bored with telling everyone ever that they had everything ever all wrong. So he simply shoved his chair away from the desk (regaining his balance after flailing his arms wildly) and heaved a great sigh.

"So. Dude." He definitely was a bit drunk if this fuzziness was anything to go by. "Dude." He'd get there eventually... "Dude, that was a success." He stabbed his finger into the air vaguely to emphasise his point. "A success."

I-It's okay ;;

Shelly almost stood up from his seat just to prevent Matt from injuring himself - why, if he fell the wrong way, he could easily end up with a cracked skull - but thankfully, it was not necessary.

"I see your vocabulary suffers when you drink too much." Shelly's speech lacked even the slightest hint of a slur. He was either exceptionally good at staying sober, or alcohol simply had a different (and so far unseen) effect on him.

"It does not," Matt protested unconvincingly with a glare at Shelly that lacked any real force behind it. "I just take... longer to, you know, process it, that's the problem."

A thought struck him in the middle of whatever other thought he'd just been having and he continued in his rambling, voie loudly rising over anything else. "The real problem is you and your not drunkenness."

Shelly wasn't sure if he liked where this conversation was going, as implied by how he shifted away from Matt. "But I am drunk. I sang. I do not sing when I'm sober."

Truth be told, he was, at the very least, drunk enough to lose the careful control that he had over his feelings at all times.

Matt, of course, knew otherwise. "I bet you sing in the shower. When you're sober." And to underline just how drunk Matt was in comparison, he shifted ever so slightly closer. At least, 'ever so slightly' in his head, which may have translated into 'a heck of a lot' in real terms.

Fortunately for Matt and unfortunately for the assassin, the alcohol had dulled his reflexes enough for Shelly not to shove Matt away immediately and possibly break one of his limbs. "I do not, I can guarantee you that. Also, this is rather uncomfortable."

Blink blink. Matt continued to lean over more than any sensible person should. "What's uncomfortable? I mean. I could totally stop it if it... really bothers you, man." Not that he showed any signs of doing so.

"W-Well, yes, it bothers me!" He edged away as far as he possibly could. "It... goes beyond the acceptable borders of gentlemanly love!"

[identity profile] totally-dude.livejournal.com 2010-07-21 04:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Gentlemanly was far too long a word for Matt to get through his head. "Guy love, you mean. Yeah. And dude, I think you have issues."

"If you would rather call it that..." Wait, what? "... Issues?"
